Additional Objectives

Carry out training programmes (both mobile and TEKOA-centre based training) with elder professors and teachers, training others and youth, to establish a firm grounding in relevant novel themes

Focus on capacity building i.e. training and life skills development (job preparedness) to participants in blended training & educational courses for any interested parties such as learners, communities and students, nationally and regionally within the KAZA-TFCA

Preserve, promote and the furthering of IKS through nature based applied science and conservation approaches

Be guided by the UN SDG’s (United Nations Sustainable Development Goals) and targets linked to Namibian development priorities, which acknowledge the critical role a healthy environment and society can play in addressing current environmental as well as social challenges​​

Generate sustainable and fair income for resident communities through tuition fees, eco-cultural tourism, adding value to natural resources e.g. seeds and bulbs (Non Timber Forest Products – NTFP), research exchange, arts and crafts, plant nursery, Payment Ecosystem Services (PES) e.g. carbon credits, employment in agro-ecological farming

Improve ecological research and monitoring of ecological sensitive landscapes, within the Namibian landscape and beyond

Contribute to the sustainable utilization and management of the natural resources through education based on applied science

Increase employment opportunities and skills development and to promote dignity restoration within the marginalized communities

Furthering and promotion of applied IKS and woodland management

Become an international knowledge hub within KAZA-TFCA, as for regional training and applied research thus positively impacting trans-frontier endangered species monitoring, research and locally driven conservation.
